Every single day at Charles IT, we work hard to successfully meet the challenges of complex infrastructures and networks. In cybersecurity, in ongoing IT support—in you-name-it—we’re proud to be known for our commitment to outstanding customer service. With the inauguration of our Employee Spotlight Series, we’d like to tell you a little bit about the people behind our success.
First up: It’s Wayne’s World. Meet Wayne Curtiss—our Lead Tech and Solution Development Manager.
Wayne at Work
Wayne Curtiss first came to work at Charles IT in 2014—and are we ever glad he did! Starting out as a Team Lead and Project Manager, he quickly moved up to a solutions development and strategic planning role. This involves handling a huge assortment of IT issues, in effect managing and overseeing whatever the company needs him to do.
“Nothing is typical in my day,” says Wayne. “I can do everything except crimp tables.”
That’s hardly an exaggeration. Since graduating from the University of Hartford with a degree in Interactive Information Technology, Wayne has been intimately involved with technology. In fact, if IT were baseball (more about baseball later), Wayne would be a multi-tool player.
Having spent more than a decade helping businesses become more productive and profitable, Wayne is a Microsoft Certified IT Professional (CITP) and Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE). He also specializes in everything regarding Office 365. And if that wasn’t enough, Wayne has in-depth experience working with Symantec, Dell, HP, Lenovo, and IBM Solutions.
But, what makes Wayne a such a force in solutions development is his perspective and approach to client issues: “Make sure you are looking at the issue from multiple angles,” he says. “Issues are often process problems that aren’t technical at all.” Of course, in those rare instances when he and his colleagues are stumped by a problem, he always follows the mantra, “Let’s Google it!”

Wayne (Not) at Work
Outside of the office, Wayne’s traveling the world with his wife – who he met on a computer repair job—and daughter. A devoted Red Sox fan, he plans on visiting every Major League Baseball park.
